Dear Friends,
The late writer and theologian Thomas Merton once said, “Gratitude takes nothing for granted, is never unresponsive, is constantly awakening to new wonder and praise of the goodness of God. For the grateful person knows that God is good, not by hearsay but by experience.”
As I look back on 2024, I am once again amazed at the countless ways our church family has experienced the goodness of God firsthand. We experienced God’s goodness in seeing the testimonies of 337 people who were baptized, courageously professing their devotion to Jesus. We have seen it in the 630 kids who attended VBS, where 61 kids made a first-time commitment to follow Jesus. We have spotted it through over $297k that was disbursed to support individuals and families in need through WACC’s Benevolent Fund. And we have witnessed it through 545 people who volunteered for the first time this past year, and over $7 million that was given to share God’s grace both locally and globally.
Through these experiences, and so many others like our growing WACC en Español ministry, Monday Night Support Groups, and our growing Access Ministry, the evidence of the goodness of God is so moving to me. I pray that as you read through the pages of this report, the evidence of God's goodness will both encourage you and lead you toward praising God for all he has done.
Church, thank you for the ways you have allowed God to work in and through you so that others might experience his goodness in a life-transforming way!
God bless you!
I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD. (Psalm 27:13)
God bless you,
John Riley
