Join us for a retreat experience as we process the emotional, physical, and spiritual needs unique to first responders and their families.
We will explore different restorative practices such as cold plunges, sauna, centering prayer and mediation, games, and more.
Speakers will share their journeys and how pursuing wholeness has impacted their lives. This gathering is open to all first responders and their partners.
Speakers
Ashley Massimino, Psy.D.
Dr. Massimino is a licensed clinical and forensic psychologist serving active duty military, veterans, law enforcement, first responders, health care professionals, and their families. She currently serves on the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department with their Psychological Services Bureau, providing mental health support to those on the front lines.
Ashley also hosts The Staff Assistant Podcast, where she seeks to normalize pursuing therapy as a first responder, provide mental health education, and tools for how to manage work-related stress.
Matt Domyancic
Matt Domyancic is a medically retired police officer who worked in patrol, SWAT, academy instructor, and wellness coordinator with the Fairfax County Police Department in Virginia. He also worked as a strength and conditioning coach at the NCAA Division I level with Yale and Georgetown Universities.
After retirement, Matt remained in the trenches as a Police Chaplain and Peer Support Leader, advocating for the wellness of first responders and military veterans. Matt holds a Master’s degree in Forensic Science, Sports Psychology, and Pastoral Theology with an emphasis in Spiritual Direction.
Rebecca Rodriguez, LMFT
Rebecca is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who considers it a sacred honor to help bring healing to those who are hurting. She has received higher levels of training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Ego States Parts Work, and Polyvagal Theory in order to provide quality trauma-informed care for her clients.
Rebecca provides unique opportunities like EMDR intensives which can accelerate healing and resource workshops as a means to empower and develop resiliency in her clients.
Kendall Wood
Kendall Wood is a yoga therapist who works with first responders, the military, and people in high-stress jobs. She works for the CAL Fire Training Center, has her own private practice for virtual yoga therapy sessions, and works as a contractor at multiple mental health treatment centers in San Diego County. She also does work with O2X Human Performance and The Wounded Warriors Foundation.
When she’s not teaching, she is an avid rock climber, hiker, and outdoor enthusiast who uses time in nature to reset and ground herself. Her husband is a CAL Fire Engineer and they live in San Diego, CA.
